Authorities approves measure to droop import responsibility on cattle and sheep
The authorities council authorised and ratified, on Thursday, a draft decree suspending the import responsibility on cattle and home sheep.
According to a press release from the federal government council, the draft decree was introduced by Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, on behalf of Fouzi Lekjaa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, liable for the funds.
The assertion clarified that this initiative follows the federal government’s actions final yr to droop each customs duties and VAT on cattle and home sheep.
The authorities additional defined that, “To ensure the continued supply of red meat to the local market, the suspension of the import duty on cattle and sheep was extended this year, with the aim of maintaining meat availability in national markets within specified quotas.”
The assertion added that, “As these quotas are no longer sufficient to meet demand, the purpose of the current draft decree is to increase these quotas to ensure the continued supply of red meat to the national market.”
