Gov’t Head Arrives in Riyadh for joint Arab–Islamic Extraordinary Summit
Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch arrived, on Sunday night in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to signify King Mohammed VI on the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit.
Upon his arrival on the King Khalid International Airport, Akhannouch was welcomed by Prince Mohammed bin Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz, Vice-Governor of the Riyadh area.
The Head of Government might be accompanied throughout this Summit, scheduled for Monday on the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
The Moroccan delegation notably contains Morocco’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Mohamed Ait Ouali, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mustapha Mansouri, in addition to senior diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had referred to as for the Summit to look at developments within the area, in gentle of the continuing Israeli warfare on Gaza and Lebanon, and its repercussions on regional safety and stability, in addition to to coordinate positions amongst member States.
This Summit, which follows on from the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit held on November 11, 2023 in Riyadh, was preceded by the preparatory ministerial assembly for the Extraordinary Summit, with the participation of Arab and Islamic member States, together with Morocco.
