Wydad amongst FIFA’s latest membership rankings for 2025 Club World Cup

The Daily Mail has disclosed the official group rankings for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will likely be held for the primary time in a brand new format with 32 groups, up from the earlier 7-team construction. The match is about to happen within the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025, with the draw for the group stage scheduled for Thursday in Miami.

The expanded match will function 5 Arab groups: Egypt’s Al Ahly, Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, Tunisia’s Esperance, the UAE’s Al Ain, and Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca. The groups will likely be divided into 8 teams of 4, with the highest two groups from every group advancing to the knockout rounds.

FIFA has but to finalize the factors for the rankings however has indicated that each “sporting and geographical factors will be taken into account as much as possible.”

The Daily Mail outlined the next rankings for every of the 4 pots:

  • Pot 1: Manchester City (England), Real Madrid (Spain), Bayern Munich (Germany), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Flamengo (Brazil), Palmeiras (Brazil), River Plate (Argentina), Fluminense (Brazil).
  • Pot 2: Chelsea (England), Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Inter Milan (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Atletico Madrid (Spain), Benfica (Portugal), Juventus (Italy), Salzburg (Austria).
  • Pot 3: Al Ahly (Egypt), Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), Ulsan Hyundai (South Korea), Wydad Casablanca (Morocco), Monterrey (Mexico), León (Mexico), Boca Juniors (Argentina), Botafogo (Brazil).
  • Pot 4: Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Al Ain (UAE), Esperance (Tunisia), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Pachuca (Mexico), Seattle Sounders (USA), Auckland City (New Zealand), Inter Miami (USA).

This new format for the Club World Cup marks a major change to the match’s conventional construction, with extra groups from around the globe competing for the title.
